⌗IWSG Wednesday 3rd March, Reading Habits

 Dear writing buddies,

Welcome to another post for the Insecure Writers Support Group.

If you would like to know more about the IWSG visit here

Sorry, if I prefer this picture to the other one: a beacon in the storm.

It’s time for another group posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.

Alex's awesome co-hosts for the March 3 posting of the IWSG are Sarah - The Faux Fountain Pen Jacqui Murray, Chemist Ken, Victoria Marie Lees, Natalie Aguirre, and JQ Rose! Visit if you can!

And ... be sure to visit the
Insecure Writer’s Support Group Website!!!

March 3 question - Everyone has a favorite genre or genres to write. But what about your reading preferences? Do you read widely or only within the genre(s) you create stories for? What motivates your reading choice?

Aaah, the written word ! Such a gift.

Although I write mostly poetry and short stories, and am attempting a full grown novel, I read very widely:

newspapers, magazines (science, cinema, travel), history books, travel guides, fiction and non-fiction (philosophy, what we call in French, " essais " which are short pieces of reflections on life and the world), and graphic novels,

which leads on to my next list:

books on visual artists: painters, sculptures, photography of wildlife and geography NOT fashion or people photography. In Africa, you must ask permission to take a photography, because they believe you are stealing or prying into their soul. When you take a photo of someone, you send them a copy with a letter.

That's all for this month folks.
Happy IWSG day.
